Jason gets a new room!

As promised, here are some pictures of Jason's new "young man" room. He had been begging me for a while to get rid of the train wall paper that had been his "big boy" room when Lauren was born, but that is not easy to do when he needs to live in his room! So while he was at Boy Scout camp for a week, I redecorated. Stripped the walls of wallpaper, Lauren helped me-and wash off all the glue. She was quite the trooper! We painted it boy colors, including navy blue, which is his favorite, and the rusty orange that he really likes too! And I tried to tie in my green-and use up some paint in the basement.

I created a private study nook by turning one of his dressers perpendicular to the wall and covering the back of it with cork board tiles to create a large bulletin board. Now when you walk in, you can't see him if he is sitting at his desk or in his reading corner (bean bag chair to come later).

And here is the happy face when he first sees the room. He had been sleeping in the car from pure exhaustion from his week at camp, and it actually took a moment for him to figure out what had happened. Then he turned around and gave me this big grin and right after I took this picture I got a big bear hug-which is saying something from the boy who's comment to ANY form of physical affection is "Get off me!"
